There are many waxes on the market, so it's important to be informed about their manufacturing processes, origins and compositions. To create the Horiance candles, we use the best possible waxes to respect the environment and your health, while offering you a high-quality product. Discover the different vegetable waxes below:

Coconut wax, 100% natural

Coconut wax is a superior quality, eco-friendly wax. Coconut wax is a luxury wax, rarely used in the candle industry because of its cost. It is one of the most expensive waxes on the market, if not the most expensive.

100% natural origin, coconut wax has an excellent combustion, clean, slow, white and without odour. It is extracted from the pulp of coconuts. Coconut comes from sustainable, environmentally-friendly agriculture. It is also vegan, GMO-free, additive-free, not tested on animals and dermatologically certified.

Respect for human and animal health and for the environment are values we really care about. That's why we chose to use coconut wax. The quality of this wax offers us a perfect combination between ecology and luxury.

Rapeseed wax, 100% natural

Rapeseed wax is a vegetable wax cultivated in Europe on a rotation basis, allowing the grounds to regenerate. Most often used for moulded candles, it perfectly releases the fragrances. However, it is rarely used because of its price and the difficulty of making it look 'perfect', or almost perfect. Vegan, not tested on animals and eco-responsible, it is an exceptional wax in the same way as coconut wax. This makes it one of the most expensive waxes on the market.

We use rapeseed wax for the same reasons we chose coconut wax. To offer you a product of excellence that respects the environment and your health.

Soy wax, 100% natural BUT...

Soy wax is the most popular vegetable wax on the market because it is 100% natural. However, it is also becoming associated with multiple controversies concerning the use of pesticides and its indirect impact on deforestation when forests are destroyed to create new soya plantations. Produced from soya beans, some of the practices used to grow soya beans can have a significant impact on the environment.

In addition to the above-mentioned factors, soya wax does not always have an optimal scent. These factors make it a wax that we do not use.

Palm wax, 100% natural BUT...

Palm wax is used very rarely, almost never, because of the massive deforestation problems it causes. In fact, the manufacturing process for this wax, as for palm oil, requires massive deforestation, which has major consequences for the environment and flora and fauna.

For the reasons given above, we do not use palm wax.

The Horiance candles

Many waxes are sold and used on the candle market, but the best waxes are rarely used because of their price. We have chosen to use only coconut and rapeseed waxes to make our Horiance candles, because we prefer to use quality raw materials that respect both the environment and our health.

We have developed our waxes in such a way as to give you the best possible aesthetic result. This makes our handmade products impossible to mass-produce. We offer you unique, hand-poured candles made from the very best products.
